P.C.I. Full Form
P.C.I. - Peripheral Component Interconnect
Overview of PCI :
Full Form of PCI is Peripheral Component Interconnect. It is a Hardware used in the Mother-board of the Desktop Computer. It is used for the High Speed Operations by the Micro-processor. The first Version of PCI was look alike a Bus structure but version 2.0 is no Longer a Bus anymore. Now-a-days it is Independent of Micro Processor Design.
Why PCI is Used :
- It provides Input - Output Ports on the Back-end of Computer.
- It is Used for the sum of Internal Components to the Computer.
- It saves Processing time of the Processor.
- It is Used for High Speed Operations.
- It is Cheap as compared to other ways.
Types of PCI available in the Market :
There are three basic bus types PCI are used, all the three types are listed below :
- 32 Bit PCI with Voltage = 5.0 Volts.
- The Average Clock speed of Data Transmissions is 33 Mega Hertz
- The maximum transmission capacity can be Approx. 1 Gigabyte per second.
- 64 Bit PCI with Voltage = 5.0 Volts.
- The Average Clock speed of Data Transmissions is 33 Mega Hertz
- The maximum transmission capacity can be Approx. 2.1 Gigabyte per second.
- 64 Bit PCI with Voltage = 3.3 Volts.
- The Average Clock speed of Data Transmissions is in Between 66 to 533 Mega Hertz
- The maximum transmission capacity can be Approx. 4.3 Gigabyte per second.
